The University of Calgary is the city’s premier post-secondary institution and research facility.
The university has 17 faculties and 55 departments, and offers over 100 undergraduate degree programs: from accounting to zoology. There are around 28,000 full-time and part-time students in attendance, including nearly 1,000 international students.
Canada’s largest university-affiliated research park is also located here: it’s an active and exciting facility of growing national and international stature, with dozens of individual research institutes and centres.
With 2,600 full-time teaching and research employees, as well as over 2,500 management and support staff members, the University of Calgary is the city’s fourth-largest employer.
Like any great university, the institution welcomes the entire population of Calgary, not just its students. The university’s theatres, concert venues and athletic facilities are among the city’s finest.
The University of Calgary is in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, on the CTrain line and near the community of Brentwood.
