One of North America’s biggest, and most famous ski resorts, Lake Louise has 1,700 skiable hectares (17 square kilometres) on 139 runs. It’s the scenery that really brings you in though: uniquely majestic views of the Rocky Mountains.
The layout of the hill allows families and groups of varying abilities to ski together: there are beginner, intermediate and expert runs down from every chair.
Beginner and intermediate skiers have access to a number of gentle slopes and long cruising runs, while experts can ski or board chutes, glades, gullies and remote bowls in some of the Rockies’ most challenging terrain.
Lake Louise is approximately 184 kilometres west of Calgary. There is a ski bus that will take you straight to the hill from Calgary, and then bring you back that evening.
