Canada Olympic Park, or COP, was a major venue in the 1988 Olympic Winter Games and is the only place within Calgary’s city limits to go downhill skiing and snowboarding.
Discovery programs introduce people of all ages to skiing and snowboarding with a variety of activities, while an advanced superpipe welcomes more advanced practitioners. There’s even a freestyle aerials and moguls course for the very brave, and over two kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails for those who like to keep it on the ground.
In the winter months, the park is host to more than 292,000 ski and snowboard visitors. It’s located just off of the Trans-Canada Highway on the western edge of the city.
