Once Upon a Christmas at Heritage Park is an old-fashioned Christmas celebration at Canada’s largest living historical village.
Every weekend from mid-November to Christmas Eve, costumed residents of Heritage Park recreate a pre-Confederation Christmas. A tradition for many Calgary families, the park is decked out in holiday grandeur, while horse-drawn wagons take visitors around the site.
Roving musicians and a theatre troupe add to the festive air, and needless to say, Santa Claus also makes an appearance. New to the event last year was an ice-skating rink located right in Heritage Town Square.
