Marda Gras is a one-day summer street festival that takes place every August in Marda Loop, in Calgary’s southwest.
The event is a fun-filled, family-friendly affair that embraces the cuisine and culture of New Orleans. As in the Big Easy, music’s a big part of the agenda with jazz, rhythm and blues and authentic zydeco music.
Around 200 vendors, including several of Marda Loop’s unique businesses, line the 10 blocks of the event, offering everything from Cajun and Creole food to home and gift ideas.
