BBQ on the Bow is a festival of barbecued food that takes place every September at Eau Claire Market (at the north end of downtown on the Bow River).
Activities include the Alberta BBQ Championship, children’s craft tent and barbecue food concession. There’s also a general store with fresh Alberta corn, barbecue sauces and cookbooks by local authors, as well as a main stage with live entertainment.
In the Alberta BBQ Championship, teams vie for recognition as the grand champion by earning the most points in four required categories: chicken, pork ribs, pork butt (shoulder) and beef brisket.
