Wordfest – a celebration of both the written and spoken word – started in Calgary and Banff in 1996.
An annual festival held over six days every October, Wordfest showcases dozen of writers (from established stars to hot up-and-comers) in a mix of events and performances throughout Calgary, Banff and the Bow Valley.
Events include readings, panel discussions, book signings and more. Wordfest attracts more than 8,000 attendees a year, and is the third-largest festival of its kind in Canada.
