Banff Summer Arts Festival
The Banff Summer Arts Festival – held at the magnificent Banff Centre for the Arts – runs from May through August each year.
Events of every artistic sort are on the docket: performances, concerts, art walks, exhibitions, readings, lectures and new media events. There are close to 200 events featuring the over 1,000 international artists participating in Banff Centre programs.
Highlights of the 2009 festival included performances by the Banff Festival Strings, a celebrated adaptation of Carmen, a Janacek opera, and Festival Dance, a show featuring North America’s finest young dancers.
