Spruce Meadows is Calgary’s gem on the international showjumping stage.
The world-class and picturesque complex hosts six major outdoor and eight indoor tournaments annually. The indoor series is for developing junior and amateur competitors, while the outdoor tournaments are for acclaimed international equestrian stars.
In addition to the on-field competition, at each tournament Spruce Meadows’ International Plaza is transformed into a country fair or historical village with activities, entertainment and exhibits.
Spruce Meadows opened to the public in 1975 and hosted its first equestrian tournament in 1976.
The complex is located in southwest Calgary, just 30 minutes from downtown, on Highway 22X (also called Spruce Meadows Trail).
