Quest Theatre was founded in 1984 by Duval Lang and Rick McNair. In the 26 years since it began, Quest Theatre has produced over 92 touring shows and played to 1.2 million children and young people. The touring shows combine curriculum learnings with topics facing today's children (from bullying to self esteem, family and friendship) and provide educators with corresponding study guides.

The company combines touring productions with artists in schools residencies, a theatre school and summer drama camps. In addition, the company has commissioned over 40 new works from established and up-and-coming playrights, and regularly accepts new submissions for consideration.
