Calgary Opera
Founded in 1972, Calgary Opera is one of North America’s most successful and innovative opera companies. It presents a number of productions every year at the Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium with nationally and internationally renowned soloists and the Calgary Opera Chorus.
Over the past decade, new creative works have been the cornerstone of the company, with five new productions having been presented by the end of 2009. The Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra accompanies all performances.
In addition, Calgary Opera presents a Great Singers Recital Series, featuring international stars such as Kathleen Battle, Cecelia Bartoli and Dame Kiri Te Kanawa.
