Revenues from Calgary’s manufacturing industry increased steadily between 1993 and 2006, as the sector became one of the city’s biggest employers.
By 2010, 49,600 people were working at 1,769 manufacturing firms and generating around $5.9 billion annually in Calgary. Today, manufacturing accounts for 6.6 per cent of the city’s total workforce.
