Falconridge is a residential outer suburb in the northeast of Calgary, just east of Calgary International Airport, and on the outer edge of the developed city.
The area, originally part of the Municipal District of Rocky View was annexed to Calgary in 1961. Falconridge proper was established in 1979.
The community is primarily made up of single-family houses, with a smaller percentage of rental apartments, condominiums and townhouses. It’s a diverse community with a high percentage of immigrants to Canada.
The neighbourhood is bordered by Falconridge Boulevard and 44th Street NE to the west, 64th Avenue NE to the north, McKnight Boulevard to the south and 68th Street NE to the east.
There are a number of schools in Falconridge:
John XXIII Elementary and Junior High
Bishop McNally Junior and Senior High
John Paul II Elementary School
There are regular bus routes serving Falconridge. By road, you’ll probably come and go by McKnight Boulevard, Falconridge Boulevard and/or 68th Street NE.
